COMPASS PRO / DOCUMENT WORKSHOP 06

Record the change.
Keep the facts separate.

01 / DOCUMENT THE PROPOSED CHANGE

One change.
One clear record.

Proposed modification and field observations
Money — keep internal cost and contract price separate

Optional internal cost figures reflect your own estimates. A partial total uses only entered categories; missing categories are not confirmed zero costs. They are not a proposed selling price, margin, invoice or legally approved adjustment.

Nothing you enter here is submitted, signed, sent to the owner or stored by HOMEFRONT. Export only when you choose to. Omit private address, financial account information and other sensitive data.

Record assembly requires JavaScript. While the builder is unavailable, use its headings to keep original scope, proposed changes and supporting evidence separate. Notes cannot be submitted.

FIELD METHOD / THREE DIFFERENT QUESTIONS

What changed?
What is proposed?
What is approved?

A new site condition, a customer selection or an overlooked interface can affect scope. Cost estimates, a proposed contract price adjustment and approval of the actual contract modification are not interchangeable.

This tool records only your own notes. It does not supply legal clauses, calculate delay entitlements, assign fault, determine applicable notices, amend an existing agreement, collect signatures or send an approval request. A formal California home improvement change order can have specific requirements: verify current law and the actual signed agreement with a qualified professional.

03 / METHOD & VERIFICATION

Do not mistake
a draft for consent.

Modeled internal cost adjustment = user-entered additional labor + materials + subcontract + other costs − estimated removed-cost credits. It is not a proposed contract price, project margin or final invoice.

Contract price adjustment is recorded exactly as the user enters it: a separately proposed amount, not calculated or approved by this worksheet. Positive schedule days record a proposed increase; negative days record a proposed reduction. Blank remains unknown. This worksheet never changes a contractual date.

Review written agreement requirements, change-order notices, who can approve changes, contract language and accurate terms with qualified California counsel or the applicable authority. If actual signed documents exist, preserve them separately.
